Apollo 11 1969 | Space Travel Series
The Objective of Apollo 11 was to complete a national goal set by President John F. Kennedy on May 25, 1961, which was to send a crew to the moon, land and then return to Earth. This all became reality when three astronauts, astronauts Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins were thrust into space and history in 1969.
Just 4 day later, Neil Armstrong would plant the first human foot on the moon. With more than half a billion people watching on television, he climbed down the ladder and said the famous words: “That’s one small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind.”
