Margaret Mitchell Home | Atlanta Landmark Series
Situated at the intersection of 10th Street and Peachtree Street is the Atlanta History Center Midtown's treasured Margaret Mitchell House. A recognized site on the National Register of Historic Places, it was formerly called the Crescent Apartments during the time Mitchell and her husband occupied Apt. 1 on its ground level from 1925 to 1932. Within these walls, Mitchell penned the majority of her iconic 1936 Pulitzer Prize-winning masterpiece, "Gone with the Wind". This illustrious abode continues to stand as a testament to her literary legacy.
The co-founder of A. B. Newton and Company, Andy Crabtree, skillfully depicted this iconic landmark with a delightful blend of playful and sophisticated artistic flair.
