On May 5, 1961, the first American rocketed into space aboard the Mercury Redstone 3: Freedom 7, The Astronaut’s name was Alan Shepard. The main objective of the Mercury missions was to determine man's capabilities in a space environment and the ability to return safely back to Earth.
The co-founder of A. B. Newton and Company, Andy Crabtree, skillfully depicted this iconic spacecraft with a blend of playful and sophisticated artistic flair.
