National Gallery Of Art - West Building | Washington D.C. Landmark Series
In 1937, the National Gallery of Art museum came into existence, founded with a private initiative to enrich the lives of the American people. Within its walls, a diverse and extensive collection awaits visitors, featuring a splendid array of paintings, drawings, prints, photographs, sculptures, medals, and decorative arts.
This carefully curated assemblage chronicles the evolution of Western art from the Middle Ages up to the present day. Remarkably, the gallery proudly houses the sole painting by Leonardo da Vinci found in the Americas, as well as the largest mobile ever created by the talented Alexander Calder.
The co-founder of A. B. Newton and Company, Andy Crabtree, skillfully depicted this iconic landmark with a delightful blend of playful and sophisticated artistic flair.
